Sean Luce
Band Director
Lake Gibson High School

Mr. Sean Luce is a native of Lakeland, Florida having graduated from George Jenkins High School. He is a 2004 graduate of the Florida State University with a Bachelors in Music Education. Since graduating, he has held several Teaching Positions throughout the state of Florida.

Mr. Luce has served as the Associate Band Director and Orchestra Director at Palm Bay High School in Melbourne, FL (January 2005- June 2006), Band Director at Winter Haven High School in Winter Haven, FL (July 2006-June 2011), and is Currently the Band Director at Lake Gibson High School (July 2011-current). Throughout his time, performing ensembles under his direction have consistently earned superior ratings at both the district and state levels of the Florida Bandmasters Association (FBA). He has had numerous students be involved in FBA Solo and Ensemble, All County Bands, Florida All State Bands, and All County Orchestras.

Mr. Luce is a member of the Florida Bandmasters Association, Florida Music Educators Association, and is an FBA Adjudicator in the areas of Solo and Ensemble Woodwinds, Concert Band, and Marching Band. He lives in Lakeland with his wonderful wife Heather (m. 2009), who is also a teacher, and their dachshund Lucy.

Paige Carr
Color Guard Coach
Lake Gibson High School
Paige is a graduate from the University of South Florida with a BA in Mass Communications. She currently works as the TV Production teacher at Lake Gibson High School. Paige was a member of the LGHS colorguard from 2006-2010 and is honored to be coaching the team as an alumni. She has been the LGHS guard director since 2011.

Paige has marched with the USF Herd of Thunder colorguard from 2011-2014. She was colorguard captain 2013 and 2014. She was part of the USF Winterguard program in 2012 earning a silver medal at WGI open class championships. She was also part of the USF A inaugural season in 2013 as a captain. She also marched drum corps international during the 2013 season with the Blue Stars.

Ernie Carr
Percussion Instructor
Lake Gibson High School
Ernie is a graduate from the University of South Florida with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a current Graduate Student at Purdue University for his Master of Science in Engineering. He currently works as a Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin.

During his marching career, Ernie served as the drum captain for the USF Herd of Thunder Drumline from 2013-2014 and he marched with several ensembles including INFINITY Percussion (2013), Tampa Bay Thunder Drum and Bugle Corps (2012), and Brahma from USF (2009-11). Ernie also has taught ensembles including Attack Percussion (2012-2014), The Braden River Marching Band of Pirates (2012) and Durant High School Cougar Pride Marching Band (2011).

Lori Baranowski

Mrs. Lori Baranowski graduated Florida Southern College and has a Bachelor’s of Music Education degree.  She also graduated from Harrison School of the Arts as part of the first graduating class.  Mrs. Baranowski marched with the Lakeland High School Dreadnaught marching band and the Jacksonville State University Marching Band. 

Mrs. Baranowski is currently the band director at Lake Gibson Middle School.  During her time at Lake Gibson Middle, her ensembles have consistently received straight superior ratings at the Florida Bandmasters Association music assessment.  She previously taught at Padgett Elementary serving as their music specialist for 8 years.   While at Padgett she produced school wide musicals and led the chorus.   She has also worked with The Tribe since 2010.

Mrs. Baranowski is a member of the Florida Bandmasters Association and the Florida Music Educators Association.  She has presented clinics to collegiate chapters of the National Association for Music Educators and serves as a mentor to new teachers and collegiate interns.

Tabatha Gabbard
Band Staff Assistant
Lake Gibson High School
Tabatha is a 2006 Lake Gibson High School Alumni. Upon graduation she attended Hillsborough Community College to further her education. She then completed her Certified Nurse’s Assistant License at the Travis Technical School in Lakeland. She became credentialed as a Certified Patient Care Assistant at the Lakeland Regional Health Center. She currently works at Lakeland Regional Health in the Mother and Baby Department.

Tabatha was in the LGHS Band all four years of high school, and participated in the University of South Florida “Herd of Thunder” Marching Band for one year while going to HCC. She is married to her loving husband Jeff (m. 2007) and has two energetic children, Bryson, and Cora.

Jeff is a 2004 Lake Gibson High School Alumni. Upon graduation he attended Hillsborough Community College where he obtained an Associates in Science Degree in Radiologic Technology. He also attended the Lakeland Regional Health School of Radiology where he became credentialed in X-ray and CT. He currently works at Lakeland Regional Health as a Radiologic Technologist.

Jeff was in the LGHS Band all four years of high school, and participated in the University of South Florida “Herd of Thunder” Marching Band for three years while going to HCC. He is married to his loving wife Tabatha (m. 2007) and has two energetic children, Bryson, and Cora.

Austin Testerman
Assistant Percussion Instructor
Lake Gibson High School
Austin Testerman is an alumnus of Lake Gibson High School who enjoys sharing his passion for music with his community. Austin is currently a senior at Southeastern University pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in Music. As a music major at Southeastern, he performs in various ensembles such as the Fireline, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Chamber Choir. His primary teaching experiences include being a percussion instructor at Lake Gibson High School, Lake Gibson Middle School, and Lawton Chiles Middle Academy. He is also a music instructor for various other instruments at the Auburndale School of Fine Arts as well as the Lion’s Den Sound Workshop in Plant City.

Conner White
Assistant Color Guard Coach
Lake Gibson High School
Conner is a graduate from the University of South Florida with a BA in Psychology.  Conner was a member of the LGHS colorguard from 2012-2016 and loves having the opportunity to help coach the team as an alumni.
​ 

Conner marched with the USF Herd of Thunder colorguard from 2016-2019. She was part of the USF Winterguard Program in 2017 earning a bronze medal at WGI Open Class Championships. She was also part of the USF A 2019 Winterguard as a captain. 

She is currently a 5th grade teacher at Boswell Elementary School. She lives in Lakeland with her loving husband AJ.

Sarah Schneider
Assistant Color Guard Coach
Lake Gibson High School
Sarah Schneider is an alumnus of Lake Gibson High School. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Southeastern University and her passion for teaching reaches all age groups. She is a dedicated guard instructor and marching band enthusiast who loves giving back to her community through the arts.

In the spring of 2019, she was a featured performer in the Florida Federation of Color Guard Circuit where her personality and talent were able to influence other guard performers through social media. She is a former member of the USF Herd of Thunder Marching Band where she was able to hone her skills on flag and got to perform in front of thousands at Raymond James Stadium.

Currently Sarah is an active member of the Southeastern University Fireline, where she performs at various school and athletic events. She has been teaching color guard at Lake Gibson High School for the past 2 years and has aided with other local schools color guard programs.
