Band Camp will be different this year due to guidelines set by the county in response to the different "phases" of rehearsals during the current times. On this page you will find papers that you must download and bring with you filled out, rules during attendance, check-in/check-out process, and a schedule breakdown for when you will need to report to school during your rehearsal block.
WHY?
Things are being done this way to ensure the safety of all those involved (students, staff, parents, etc..) during the current times. Our job is meant to keep everyone healthy when they arrive, while they are at rehearsal, and when they leave.

THIS FORM MUST BE FILLED OUT AND SIGNED IN ORDER TO ATTEND YOUR FIRST REHEARSAL. IF THIS PAPER IS NOT FILLED OUT, YOU CANNOT ATTEND.

These forms must be filled out as soon as possible and turned in with the Student Information Form. The Medical Form MUST BE NOTARIZED. There are notary signers at most Banks, Lawyers Offices, as well as the LGHS Front Office. These forms go with us on every field trip.

WHAT TO WEAR
Guard- Athletic Clothing that is school appropriate at will allow for ease of movement. Also, close toed closed back shoes.
Winds/Percussion- Shorts and T-shirt that is school appropriate. Also, close toed close back shoes
WHAT TO BRING
-YOUR FORMS, ESPECIALLY THE BAND CAMP 2020 PHASE 1 AND 2 FORM- DON'T COME TO PRACTICE WITHOUT THIS FORM
-A face mask- YOU CANNOT COME TO PRACTICE WITH OUT A MASK. This must be worn at all times unless the staff member tells you to remove it.
-Instrument/Guard Equipment
-Your own personal water bottle. There will be NO SHARING OF WATER and WATER FOUNTAINS WILL BE TURNED OFF
-Winds (brass/woodwinds)- Flip Folder and lyre (available at Carlton Music, or Guitar Center)
-Brass Players- a spit valve rag (to empty your spit valves onto, preferably an old towel)
-Winds and Percussion- A Pencil
-Percussion- A Three Ring Binder with plastic sheet protectors
HOW TO CHECK IN
-Please arrive about fifteen minutes before your assigned time with your needed items and wearing a face mask to the front of the music building.
-Check in with the parent/staff member
-You will have your temperature taken by use of a non contact thermometer, and you will be asked a series of health screen questions (the ones that can be seen on the BAND CAMP 2020 PHASE 1 AND 2 FORM). If you pass the temperature and health questionnaire, you will be allowed to practice.
-Report to your prescribed rehearsal location at the time that it is to start and enter through the assigned location of that building/room.
DURING REHEARSAL
-During Rehearsal, Please make sure to listen to the instructors so that we can maximize the short amount of time that we will have together.
-Winds, when you are playing you will not wear your mask, as soon as you finish playing, you must put your mask back on. So there will be a lot of mask on mask off taking place.
-Guard and percussion will be wearing masks the entire time they are inside. It is possible that you will be able to take your mask off temporarily when outside.
-Time will be given at the end for you to pack up you instrument/equipment, and spray down the music stands, or anything that needs to be disinfected. ---
-Hand Sanitizer will also be available.
HOW TO DEPART
-Once your portion of your rehearsal is finished, you must exit the building/room the assigned way wearing your mask and taking all of your items with you. LOCKERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE USED DURING BAND CAMP.
-Once you have finished your portion of rehearsal, you must be picked up and leave campus. You can get picked up in front of the walk way (away from the entrance of the music building where the check in table is at), or in front of the school by the flag pole. Either way, once your portion of rehearsal is finished, you must leave campus.
