You will find information about band camp for the 2022-2023 season. Including what to bring, forms, dates and times, etc.... PLEASE KNOW..... The dates that are listed on this website are subject to change should any rules from the county come out. While we feel very strongly that these will remain the dates, if anything changes, we will update the website as well as the Facebook.

These forms must be filled out as soon as possible and turned in with the Student Information Form. The Medical Form MUST BE NOTARIZED. There are notary signers at most Banks, Lawyers Offices, as well as the LGHS Front Office. These forms go with us on every field trip.

WHAT TO WEAR--- (Posted 5-3-22)
Guard- Athletic Clothing that is school appropriate at will allow for ease of movement. Also, close toed closed back shoes.
Winds/Percussion- Shorts and T-shirt that is school appropriate. Also, close toed close back shoes

BAND CAMP SPIRIT DAYS... (Posted 7-18-22)
This year, we are going to have spirit days during band camp. If you'd like to show your spirit, wear a shirt that fits the theme of the day. 

MONDAY- Movie Shirt Day
TUESDAY-
Tie-Dye Tuesday
WEDNESDAY- On Wednesdays, We Wear Pink
THURSDAY- Cartoon Shirt Day
FRIDAY- Garnet/Gold Day (Tribe Shirt)


WHAT TO BRING-- Updated list (posted 5-3-22)
-YOUR FORMS, 
-Per Polk County Guidelines, Facemasks are optional. 
-Instrument/Guard Equipment
-Your own personal 2 quart cooler of water. There will be NO SHARING OF WATER and WATER FOUNTAINS WILL BE TURNED OFF
-A Bagged Lunch/dinner. You must eat to get nutrients in your body during camp, AND, there will be no sharing of food with others. 
-Winds (brass/woodwinds)- Flip Folder and lyre (available at Carlton Music, or Guitar Center)
-Brass Players- a spit valve rag (to empty your spit valves onto, preferably an old towel)
-Winds and Percussion- A Pencil
-Percussion- A Three Ring Binder with plastic sheet protectors

HOW TO CHECK IN---  (posted 5-13-22)
-The check In Table will be at the main entrance of the music building (facing the parking lot). Arrive early enough to turn in your forms.


REHEARSAL LOCATIONS---  (posted 5-13-22)
-Officer work days- Band Room
-Percussion/Guard Camp- Percussion in Chorus Room, and Guard in Band Room
-Full Camp- Inside portion, EVERYONE WILL START IN THE BAND ROOM... THEN--- Percussion in Chorus Room, Guard in auditorium, Winds in the Band Room.
-Full Camp- Outside Portion- Practice Field

Monday July 18- Tuesday July 19 8:00 am- 4:00 pm

ROOKIE/GUARD/PERCUSSION/OFFICER CAMP
Wednesday July 20- Thursday July 21, 12:00 pm- 8:00 pm


FULL BAND CAMP---- THIS IS WHEN ALL MEMBERS, NEW AND RETURNING WILL COME TO BAND CAMP
Monday July 25- Friday July 29, 12:00 pm- 8:00 pm

PARENT PREVIEW PERFORMANCE
Friday July 29, Time- TBA
This will be the first performance of the year to show off what we have learned during camp

PRE-SCHOOL EVENING PRACTICES
Tuesday August 2, Thursday August 4, and Tuesday August 9, 6:00 pm- 8:30 pm.

SHOE FITTING, WEDNESDAY 7-27-22- Students needing new marching shoes, the shoe company will be here on Wednesday the 27th for shoe fitting. Winds and Percussion Shoes will be $33 and Guard Shoes will be $42. Checks/Money Orders need to be made out to LGHS Band, or Cash can be accepted as well. 

UNIFORM FITTING, THURSDAY 7-28-22- Winds and percussion students will be having their uniform fitting take place on Thursday 7-28-22. Students will need to wear a t-shirt and non-bulky shorts to try on the uniforms to ensure a proper fit. Time blocks are going to be sorted by grade level and are as follows
Seniors- 7:30 am- 8:15 am
Juniors- 8:15 am- 9:00 am
Sophomores- 9:00 am- 10:00 am
Freshmen- 10:00 am- 12:00 pm

PARENT PERFORMANCE NIGHT, FRIDAY 7-29-22- The Tribe will be putting on a "Parent Preview Performance" this Friday, 7-29-22. The performance will begin at 6:00 pm in the courtyard behind the music building. Come see and hear what all we have learned over the past week of camp!!!!

UNIFORMS, MARCHING SHOES, AND DUES--- (updated 5-13-22)

UNIFORMS-We will be wearing our marching uniforms at some point in time during the season so there will be a uniform fitting day. More information about that will be given later

MARCHING SHOES- Marching shoes will be a part of the uniform and must be purchased by the student. These are not exact prices but the shoes for winds/percussion are around $30-$35, and the guard shoes are around $40-$45. Exact shoe prices will be given during band camp.

DUES- Since marching band is back to "normal" for the second year in a row. There will be band dues again this year. A Breakdown list of what the dues cover, the amount, due dates, and ways to "work down" dues will be given out during band camp.
